There's been a small amount of concern for Tennessee Vols fans this month over the status of 2026 five-star Vols quarterback commit Faizon Brandon.
Brandon, a Greensboro, NC native who is rated as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, has been committed to Tennessee since August.
The recent hiring of Bill Belichick at North Carolina has led to speculation that the legendary former head coach could swipe Brandon from the Vols (Chapel Hill is just 50 minutes away from Brandon's hometown of Greensboro).
247Sports recruiting analyst Tom Loy, however, says there's nothing for Vols fans to worry about.
Loy reported on Saturday that he's been told that despite a push from North Carolina and Belichick (and other schools), Brandon is "locked in" with Tennessee.
"Tennessee fans, just to be very clear, you have nothing to worry about at this point," said Loy in regards to Brandon's commitment status. "The Vols should be very confident that he is locked in….he is locked in with the Vols."
On Friday night, Brandon led Grimsley high school to a win in the 4A NCHSAA state championship. Brandon was named the MVP of the game.
Brandon won't be able to sign with Tennessee for another year, but it sounds like he's not having any second thoughts about his commitment.
