The college football world is less than two weeks away from learning which program will land a commitment from 2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr.

And it's the Tennessee Vols that currently have the most momentum in the battle for Sanders, who is set to announce his commitment on August 17.

A couple of weeks ago, On3's Steve Wiltfong felt like Ohio State was going to be the winner of the Sanders sweepstakes.

But with just over a week to go before Sanders commits, Witlfong's "best guess" is that Tennessee will emerge as the winner of this recruiting battle.

"So I think when I'm talking to all of my sources and adding up the intel, my best guess, today, would be Tennessee," said Wiltfong. "But I've also at times had my best guess on Ohio State. And then even early in the process, you looked at Georgia. I never had Clemson in the one hole (for Sanders). Who knows, maybe we're sleeping on Georgia. But my best guess today would be Tennessee."

Sanders, 6-foot-6/290 lbs from Charlotte, NC, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Tennessee's 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation. Landing a commitment from Sanders would likely vault the Vols' class into the top five with just four months to go until the early signing period.
