According to On3, Vanderbilt transfer center Jalen Washington has committed to Tennessee.
Washington, who started his career at North Carolina, averaged 8.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this past season.
Washington was recently awarded an extra season of eligibility after a judge in Tennessee awarded him a temporary injunction against the NCAA.
The lawsuit stemmed from the NCAA’s new five-for-five eligibility rules.
But here’s the catch.
The NCAA is appealing the ruling, and no one knows how that will play out.
So Washington is eligible to play for now. But that could change before the season, or even during the season (who knows anymore).
The Vols landed a big man who can help them this upcoming season, but it remains to be seen if he’ll actually get to play.
