The Tennessee Vols haven't gone crazy in the NCAA transfer portal this offseason, but UT has still added some talent to their roster via the portal.

Tennessee has added eight transfers so far. South Carolina, meanwhile, has added 20 transfers while Texas A&M has added 23 transfers. Ole Miss, the team with the No. 1 transfer class in college football, has added 15 transfers.

The Vols' 2024 transfer class currently ranks at No. 20 in the nation according to 247Sports.

Of the teams in the top 20, only Texas (seven) and Ohio State (six) have fewer transfer commits than Tennessee.

Vols head coach Josh Heupel and his staff have opted to build the program mainly through high school recruiting while supplementing the roster with transfer players that fit Tennessee's culture. This has resulted in more continuity on the roster, which should translate to a culture that continues to be among the strongest in college football.

Here are the transfer player that UT has added so far this offseason.

Lance Heard — Offensive tackle — LSU
Jaxson Moi — Defensive lineman — Stanford
Chris Brazzell — Wide receiver — Tulane
Holden Staes — Tight end — Notre Dame
Miles Kitselman — Tight end — Alabama
Jalen McMurray — Cornerback — Temple
Jermod McCoy — Cornerback — Oregon State
Jakobe Thomas — Safety — Middle Tennessee State

Tennessee lost 12 players to the transfer portal this offseason, though there were no major "surprise" losses for the program.

Here are the 12 players that left Tennessee this offseason

Gerald Mincey — Offensive lineman — Kentucky
Wesley Walker — Safety — Louisville
Tamarion McDonald — Safety — Louisville
Doneiko Slaughter — Cornerback — Arkansas
De'Shawn Rucker — Cornerback — USF
Tyler Baron — Defensive lineman — Louisville
Connor Meadows — Offensive lineman — Tennessee State
Addison Nichols — Offensive lineman — Arkansas
Mo Clipper Jr — Offensive lineman — Charlotte
Jack Luttrell — Safety — Arizona
Brandon Turnage — Cornerback — Ole Miss
Warren Burrell — Cornerback — Georgia Tech

The next NCAA transfer portal doesn't open until April, which means there shouldn't be much roster movement for the next couple of months. It's still possible that Tennessee could add a player or two from the portal during the spring transfer window.
