2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, a Tennessee Vols commit, is expected miss some time due to an injury.

Brandon, 6-foot-4/200 lbs from Greensboro, NC didn’t play on Friday night for Grimsley High School because of a hand injury.

According to Joel Bryant of High School OT, Brandon is dealing with a ligament issue in his hand.

Bryant noted that it’s not expected to be a longterm issue for the five-star quarterback.

Grimsley head coach Daryl Brown told WXII’s Chris Petersen that Brandon will be out “several weeks”.

Brandon didn’t throw any warm-up passes before Grimsley’s game against West Forsyth according to the Winston-Salem Journal’s Marc Pruitt.

The good news is that the injury isn’t expected to keep Brandon sidelined longterm — which means it shouldn’t impact him once he’s at Tennessee.

Brandon is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class. He’s been committed to Tennessee since August 3, 2024.
