The Tennessee Vols can finally stop hearing about the losing streak in Gainesville.

Tennessee cruised to a dominant 31-11 win over the Florida Gators on Saturday night in the Swamp, giving the Vols their first win in Gainesville since 2003.

The Volunteers jumped out to a 31-0 lead in the first half. While most Tennessee fans never felt comfortable despite the big lead (weird things happen in the Swamp), the outcome of the game was never really in doubt.

How far the Tennessee Vols are expected to climb in the AP Top 25 poll

The Vols are poised to climb a couple of spots in the new AP Top 25 poll on Sunday.

On3 predicts that Tennessee, which was ranked No. 20 in the previous AP Top 25 poll, will move up to No. 18 in this week’s rankings.

CBS Sports, meanwhile, has the Vols moving up just one spot to No. 19.

On3 has Tennessee passing Georgia Tech and USC in the rankings. CBS Sports only has the Vols moving past USC.

“The long losing streak to Florida in The Swamp has been snapped, and Tennessee has now set itself up to finish ranked for the fourth straight season under Josh Heupel,” wrote CBS Sports’ Chip Patterson.

The new AP Top 25 poll will be released on Sunday afternoon.
