The Tennessee Vols are among the top schools for one of the best cornerback recruits in the nation.
2027 four-star cornerback Ace Alston included the Vols among his top 10 schools this week, along with Indiana, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, and USC.
Alston, 5-foot-11/175 lbs from Cincinnati, OH, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 cornerback in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Ohio. He’s also rated as the No. 113 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Will Ace Alston land with the Tennessee Vols?
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Notre Dame is the program that’s currently “trending” in Alston’s recruitment.
“While plenty of programs remain in the running for his pledge, Notre Dame is the team currently trending for Alston,” wrote Fawcett.
There’s still a long way to go in this recruiting battle — Alston won’t sign a program for another year — but it’s clear the Vols have some work to do if they’re going to land the talented defensive back.
Alston took an unofficial visit to Tennessee this past summer. The Vols will likely need to get Alston on campus for an official visit next spring/summer to have a legitimate shot to win this recruiting battle.
