Tennessee is planning to honor Dolly Parton in several different ways during the season opener against Furman on Saturday, including by playing one of her songs before the fourth quarter.
We don’t know which song it’ll be, or how long Tennessee plans to use the song (they’ve been using “The Way I Talk” by East Tennessee native Morgan Wallen), but for at least one game, there will be a Dolly song played between the third and fourth quarter at Neyland Stadium.

5. Islands in the Stream: It’s one of the more well-known songs associated with Dolly, but this isn’t a Kenny Rogers tribute. Still, it has a great sing-a-along chorus, but it’s a little too laid back.
4. Here You Come Again: This won’t be the choice because I don’t think enough people under the age of 40 (or maybe even 50) will know the song. But man, what a jam. I’m gonna listen to this all day Friday just to get the vibes right for Saturday.

There’s a quick 30-second build up before the song launches into a chorus that everyone knows. And who knows, if it sounds great and the energy is good, maybe it could become the permanent fourth quarter song for the Vols.
