Tennessee Vols football is expected to make a big-time addition later this week
Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers are expected to stay hot on the recruiting trail later this week with a big-time commitment.
The Tennessee Vols are expected to make a big-time addition later this week.
Rivals.com’s Chad Simmons predicted on Monday morning that Tennessee will win the recruiting battle for 2027 four-star offensive lineman Q’Mari Hudson.
Hudson, 6-foot-5/300 pounds from Chesapeake, VA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite ranking as the No. 38 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 9 player in the state of Virginia.
“I felt great. The atmosphere was nice, and after this visit I feel good about Tennessee and they helped me pick where I’m going,” said Hudson to Rivals.com.
Tennessee is battling Virginia Tech for Hudson’s commitment.
According to Simmons, Hudson, who took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend, was initially planning to announce his commitment in July, but he’s now planning to commit on June 13.
The Vols made up ground quickly in this recruiting battle as they didn’t officially offer Hudson until March 30.
Hudson took his official visit to Virginia Tech the week before his visit to Tennessee.
Recruiting battles are always fluid, and things can change in an instant, but it certainly sounds like the Volunteers will be getting some good news on Saturday when Hudson announces his college decision.
