Where Tennessee Vols guard Ja’kobi Gillespie is projected to be selected in the 2026 NBA Draft
Tennessee Volunteers guard Ja’kobi Gillespie isn’t a lock to be selected in the 2026 NBA Draft after spending one season on Rocky Top.
Tennessee Vols forward Nate Ament will likely be a lottery selection in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The Virginia native has been projected as a potential top 10 pick in recent weeks. It would be a shock if he falls outside of the top 15.
Ament isn’t the only former Vol who could be selected in this year’s draft.

Unlike Ament, Vols guard Ja’kobi Gillespie isn’t a lock to be drafted.
On3’s James Fletcher III, however, believes the Tennessee native will sneak into the final found.
Fletcher has the Washington Wizards selecting Gillespie with the No. 60 overall pick in the draft (which is the final pick of the draft).
Gillespie doesn’t have ideal NBA size at just 6-foot-1/188 pounds. But he proved to be an effective scorer in the SEC last season by averaging 18.4 points per game. Gillespie averaged 14.7 points per game at Maryland the previous season. I’m sure he’ll at least get a chance to make an NBA roster.
The 2026 NBA Draft will take place on June 23 and June 24.
