2026 five-star edge rusher Trenton Henderson is eyeing programs like Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, and Tennessee as he works to get closer to a decision.
Henderson's father, Timothy, told On3 that his son is looking for a program with a real "family atmosphere".
“He’s more of a laid-back kid,” said Henderson's father. “He’s looking for somewhere that feels like a family atmosphere. Somewhere he can get coached well. He’s looking for a great coach that can teach him the game and get him to the next level. Just a family atmosphere for real.”
Tennessee's culture under head coach Josh Heupel is well-known for putting family first, which is why the Vols should be viewed as a serious contender for Henderson.
Henderson, 6-foot-4/225 lbs from Pensacola, FL, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 3 edge rusher in the nation and No. 1 player in the state of Florida. He's also rated as the No. 12 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Tennessee currently has six players committed to its 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 5 in the nation.
