One of the Tennessee Vols' 2025 recruiting targets could announce his commitment in early March according to Rivals.com.

Adam Gorney of Rivals.com said this week "the word is" that 2025 four-star edge rusher Nasir Wyatt could "come come off the board in early March".

Wyatt, 6-foot-3/215 lbs from Santa Ana, CA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 2 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 27 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Alabama, Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, Tennessee, and Ohio State are the eight programs that Wyatt is considering. Oregon, for now, is viewed as the favorite.

The Vols, however, could be a sneaky contender here. Tennessee is making some noise when it comes to edge rushers lately with Byron Young coming off a terrific rookie NFL season and rising junior James Pearce locked in as an SEC star. The Vols also signed five-star edge rusher Jordan Ross during the 2024 recruiting cycle. It seems like Tennessee is becoming a top destination for edge rushers lately.

Additionally, Wyatt attends the same high school (Mater Dei) as Vols wide receiver Bru McCoy, which gives Tennessee a nice connection to the talented edge rusher.

Of course, even if Wyatt commits in March, his recruitment won't truly be over until the early signing period in December.
