The Tennessee Volunteers lost in the Sweet Sixteen against the Purdue Boilermakers on March 28 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky; failing to continue their historic season.

The Volunteers' first half against the Boilermakers can be simply described in one work: Terrible.

Vols look flat out scared of Purdue. This is embarrassing

The Vols relied too heavily on three pointers and didn't seem able to move the ball inside to Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield. Unfortunately for Tennessee, their three pointers were not falling.

Even with the teams' inefficiency deep, the Volunteers had free throw opportunities that they absolutely squandered.

If Tennessee hits half of its misses this game is just 7-8 points at half.

Even with the Vols' struggles in the first half, they still went into halftime only down by 12 (40-28).

The second half was better for the Vols, who eventually were able to go on a 14-0 run to tie the game. After both teams trading shots and a controversial foul, the game went into overtime.

However, with Williams, Kyle Alexander, and Jordan Bowden fouling out in overtime, the Vols didn't have enough firepower to close out the game with a win.

Hell of a year for the #Vols. They have a better team than just the Sweet Sixteen but this season is one to remember for Tennessee fans.
