UCLA Bruins quarterback Nico Iamaleava got hit with some brutal news on Monday.
According to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, Iamaleava is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 college football season with a knee injury.
UCLA is currently 5-0 and ranked No. 12 in the nation.
The news comes just a couple of days after the Bruins won on the road against Oregon.
Iamaleava, who is in his second season at UCLA after starting his career with the Tennessee Vols, has passed for 982 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions in five games this season. He’s also rushed for 144 yards and one touchdown.
The former Vol has taken a beating at times this season, and he’s shown resilience by fighting his way back into games.
Update:
ESPN’s Pete Thamel says there’s no definitive timeline for Iamaleava’s absence. For now, he’s out “indefinitely.”
