Vols 4-star commit that Ohio State is trying to flip had a huge game in front of Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel
The Ohio State Buckeyes are trying to swipe 2026 four-star commit Legend Bey from the Tennessee Vols.
Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel was in the house to witness 2026 four-star wide receiver Legend Bey’s huge game on Friday night.
Bey, who plays quarterback for North Forney, scored five touchdowns (four rushing and one passing) on Friday night to go along with 261 rushing yards and 203 passing yards.
The Texas native has been committed to Tennessee since late June.
Ohio State is trying to swipe Legend Bey from Tennessee
Bey, who is rated as the No. 47 player in the state of Texas, took a visit to Columbus last weekend for the Ohio State Buckeyes’ win over the Penn State Nittany Lions.
And that visit has Vols fans nervous that the talented recruit could flip his commitment to Ohio State.
“Ohio State is in consideration,” said Bey to On3 following his visit to Columbus. “They have an amazing plan for me and want me to play as a freshman….Ohio State is a huge factor in my recruitment. They have QB and wildcat packages for me and want to develop me! Not only does this visit have me considering them, but I love my relationships with the coaching staff.”
On3’s Sam Spiegelman suggested recently that Ohio State is in a “strong position” to flip Bey.
“The Ohio State staff knocked it out of the park with the Tennessee commit out of Texas, and our intel points to the Buckeyes being in a strong position to potentially flip the 4-star speedster,” wrote Spiegelman.
The early signing period begins on December 3. Bey is expected to make a final decision at some point over the next few weeks.
Tennessee is certainly hoping that Heupel’s trip to Texas on Friday to see Bey play will be enough to keep the four-star recruit committed to the Volunteers amid heavy interest from the Buckeyes.
