The word disrespect gets thrown around too much, but Tennessee RB DeSean Bishop was just the victim of true unexplainable disrespect

It’s hard to even explain the level of disrespect that was thrown Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop’s way this week.

We use the word disrespect a lot.

Probably too much, to be honest.

But it absolutely applies to Tennessee Vols running back DeSean Bishop this week.

Somehow, Bishop was not named to the Doak Walker Award watch list that was released on Tuesday.

The Doak Walker Award is given annually to the top running back in college football.

Bishop is coming off a season in which he rushed for 1,076 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was named Second-Team All-SEC last season.

And he’s not one of the 60 running backs who made the list?

This has to be a mistake. Someone must’ve messed up while making this list. There’s no other explanation.

I mean, former Vol Peyton Lewis, who rushed for 290 yards last season while serving as a backup to Bishop at Tennessee, is on the list!

(Lewis transferred to Virginia earlier this offseason.)

Someone screwed up. There’s no way they actually think Bishop isn’t worthy of being on the watch list for this award.

But hey, whatever the case, it’s just extra motivation for Bishop — not that he needs it, though. He’s been working like a madman all offseason.
