Former Tennessee Vols center Felix Okpara made his NBA Summer League debut for the Washington Wizards on Thursday night in Las Vegas.
Okpara, who started his college career at Ohio State, was selected with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Wizards fans make it clear how they feel about Felix Okpara
Okpara played 20 minutes in his summer league debut, scoring four points while securing six rebounds in the Wizards’ 92-88 win over the Utah Jazz.
Most importantly, the Wizards were plus 18 points with Okpara on the floor (the best of any Washington player).
Wizards fans quickly took to social media to express their appreciation for Okpara’s perfomance while recognizing the type of impactful role player the 6-foot-11 native of Nigeria can be for the franchise.
It’s just one summer league game — there will inevitably be some ups and downs as Okpara makes the transition to the NBA — but there’s no question that he will have an opportunity to carve out a nice role for himself with the Wizards as a rookie this fall.
