The New Orleans Saints are quite excited to have Chris Olave.

The rookie wideout is everything they expected and possibly more. As a first-year player, he is already showing off traits that only veterans put on film. His instincts to find open space and smoothness to get open is elite.

His numbers speak for themselves. Even with inconsistent QB play, Olave is taking over the rookie WR class in production.

The Saints are learning every week about new ways to get the young stud the ball. He is dynamic, and his speed was on full display this past weekend when he flew by star cornerback Jalen Ramsey for a 53-yard touchdown.

He and Andy Dalton have a solid connection already. The Saints have so much success on offense when Olave, Alvin Kamara, and Taysom Hill are heavily involved. That is extremely clear this season.

A former Heisman Trophy winner and rookie of the year believes that Olave is special.

Robert Griffin III commented on the Saints’ rookie WR this week on Twitter.

RG3 is absolutely correct, too.

There are other rookies putting up impressive numbers, but Olave is on another level at his position.

He is firmly the top candidate at WR to win rookie of the year. His odds have been fluctuating over the past few weeks, but he, Seahawks’ RB Kenneth Walker III, and Texans’ RB Dameon Pierce have the best odds right now.

He has a great case for the award, especially if the Saints can get back on track.

National media is even noticing how special the Saints’ rookie receiver is, and that’s great news for him.
