Good news hasn’t come around often for the New Orleans Saints this season.

Unfortunately, another blow to their playoff chances arrived Monday afternoon.

The Saints take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. It is a game that New Orleans must win if they want any chance at winning the NFC South.

They’ll be without one of the best players on their defense.

Marshon Lattimore will not play tonight against the Bucs.

Lattimore hasn’t played since early October.

He’s had multiple injuries that he is working his way back from. He suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung. Those have kept him out for two months.

Lattimore practiced in limited fashion for the Saints all week long, but ultimately, the Saints are going the cautious route with their best defensive back.

It means that we will not get another rambunctious match between Lattimore and Bucs’ WR Mike Evans, unfortunately.

Lattimore usually gets the best of Evans, but there is always plenty of energy. Expect Alontae Taylor and Paulson Adebo to get most of the work for the Saints on the outside.

It is yet another big blow for New Orleans’ chances at the division.
