Giants re-sign free agent Matt Breida to a one-year deal
Breida will be back in Giants Blue.
Free agent Matt Breida is headed back to New York, suring up depth behind star Saquon Barkley.
Jordan Schultz of The Score, announced the news via Twitter, saying Breida inked a one-year $2.3 million deal.
Breida played in all 17 games last year, racking up over 220 yards on the ground and 118 in receiving.
Pedestrian numbers to the naked eye, Breida is an elusive change of pace back, but more importantly, he is suitable in pass protection.
While this deal has little barring on the Saquon Barkley situation, it provides the Giants with a stable backup and a valuable insurance piece.
