The Baltimore Ravens will be glad to see Lamar Jackson behind center once again. But Jackson said his two cents over the reporting of his ankle injury.

The Baltimore Ravens unfortunately themselves back in a tough spot once again this season. That being playing games without Lamar Jackson behind center.

The Ravens have been forced to play the last two games without their star quarterback. His status for Week 7 is currently in question, too. But Jackson had a chance to speak at the end of this week — giving some insight into where he’s at. He confirmed he’s dealing with a high ankle sprain and, in the process, threw some cold water on the reporting around his injury.

Lamar Jackson roasts Ian Rapoport for report around his ankle injury

“I thought it was a high ankle sprain. Who said that? Ian Rapoport said that…he part of the training staff? (No.) So we can’t go off Ian Rapoport, you know? He’s just reporting. Somebody probably told him that too, though. So can’t blame him. But no, my staff told me it was a high ankle sprain so we’re going with what Adrian told me. Not going with what Ian told me. Just being honest.”

I think how Lamar handled this is just awesome. While Rapoport ends up catching some shade from the comments, Lamar also addresses the biggest elephant in the room: the media machine. The insiders get what people want them to get most of the time, so it’s not as if Rapoport pulled “not a high ankle sprain” out of thin air.

But, as always, the best and most reliable source of information is…the source itself. And we now have that from Jackson, who affirmed he’s working his way back from a high ankle sprain.

Baltimore is currently in the meat of the schedule. They get the Bengals this Sunday, then are facing the prospect of tackling the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars in a span of five days to start the month of November. The sooner they can get Jackson back, the better. We’ll see about Sunday. But a high ankle sprain return in just a few weeks is no small feat. We, thankfully, now have the clear picture on what he’s facing…thanks to Lamar clearing the record.
