The Buffalo Bills won an emotional contest against the division-rival New England Patriots.

With the victory, Buffalo secured the number two seed in the AFC and locked up a matchup against the Dolphins next weekend.

This game had the makings of a storybook. From the opening kickoff being returned for a touchdown, to John Brown gifting his touchdown ball to the trainer that helped save Hamlin's life, and so much more.

Stefon Diggs is Him

Stefon Diggs made his presence known on the football field, accounting for some big-time plays and a highlight reel touchdown.

In fact, with his touchdown, Diggs matched a Bills record with the most receiving touchdowns in a single season. To say Diggs has been a difference-maker would be a massive understatement.

Since joining the Bills, Diggs has been invaluable to both the offense and the culture of the Bills. He's quickly grown to be one of the biggest leaders in the locker room.

An emotion interview

In fact, immediately after the game, it's no surprise that Diggs made one of the most memorable announcements about the impact of today's game.

Talking about the difficult week and the emotions surrounding the game, Diggs pointed out how the team pulled through.

"It was rough early on," the Bills wide receiver told NFL Network, discussing the importance of getting in the right mental space before the game. "We went in with the right mindset. Praying hard, praying long."

Specifically speaking on Hamlin and the strength he's faced since the injury, Diggs had almost a direct message to the talented safety.

"If my brother can make it through, we can fight through. Looking forward to this week to play for him."

"I love him. I just want to be close to him," Diggs shared about his brother, Damar Hamlin. Surely, a sentiment that the entire Bills locker room feels.

Diggs continued by talking about the adversity the team has had to endure this year with injuries and the many tragic events that had happened in the Bills community.

"It showed that we can really weather the storm on the field, off the field. We've got a strong group, a real family over here," the talented receiver added.

Bills Mafia is ready

Finishing off his interview, Diggs talked about how there's still work to do. It only took three words for him to rile up the Bills Mafia and get them ready for the postseason. "The mission starts" was the final message Diggs had for the media and the world.

Buffalo is ready, Miami's coming to town. The playoffs are almost underway.
