A Pro Football Hall of Famer who spent most of his career tormenting the Buffalo Bills would now like to be part of the franchise.

Hall of Fame defensive back Darrelle Revis, who spent most of his career with the New York Jets, told The Athletic’s Tim Graham that he’d love to join the Bills’ coaching staff right now.

And it’s all because of his relationship with new Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard, his former teammate with the Jets (Leonhard and Revis were teammates in New York from 2009 to 2011).

“I’m not joking at all,” said Revis to The Athletic. “I’ve always loved the game, and I’ve always loved playing with Jim.”

“I think Jim will be a future head coach,” added Revis. “Tell him if he needs a secondary coach to give me a call. Maybe this is my interview where I tell Jim that if he ever needs help, to keep me at the top of the list.”

According to Graham, Leonhard wrote Revis’ phone number down after being informed that the Hall of Famer wants to join the Bills’ coaching staff.

Revis says he’s ready to get into coaching now because “the kids are out of the house” and he has the “time and opportunity to do other things.”

I don’t know how big of a benefit Revis would be to Buffalo in 2026 if he were to join the staff — he’d be finding his voice as a coach — but it may not be a bad idea to bring him on board.

You never know what kind of advice he could pass on to some of Buffalo’s younger defensive players.
