Continuing with an established pattern, the Carolina Panthers met with Louisiana State University wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.
Thomas Jr. is one of a few wide receivers the Panthers have met with in recent weeks. That list includes South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette and University of Virginia wide receiver Malik Washington.
As for Thomas Jr., he met with the Panthers as well as the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Thomas Jr. has all the physical tools needed to succeed at the NFL level.
At 6-foot-4, he can be a difference-maker and a 50-50 ball threat.
During the 2023 season, he recorded 68 receptions for 1,117 yards and 17 touchdowns.
He is projected to go late in the first round. If the Panthers like what he can bring to the table, Dan Morgan will have to make some calls to get into the draft early.
