Panthers Schedule Release: Game-by-game predictions as Carolina looks to repeat as NFC South champs and prove they belong
The Carolina Panthers will face a gauntlet of a schedule this upcoming season with all 17-games now revealed, but there’s one clear way for the Panthers to repeat as NFC South champions.
The Carolina Panthers’ 2026 schedule has fully been revealed with the Panthers finally earning some recognition from the league after pulling three primetime games (the most ever in the Dave Canales Era).
However, the Panthers still have much to prove despite winning the NFC South and hosting a playoff games last season. This is still a hungry team that the league is still overlooking as a real threat and the Panthers need to prove they can take the next step.
So, let’s go game-by-game through the 2026 season, predicting wins and losses to see how the Panthers could do this upcoming season.
Carolina Panthers 2026 Game-by-Game Predictions
Week 1 vs. Chicago Bears
Headline: Week 1 curse continues for the Panthers
Narratives will be running high in this game after the trade that went down between these two teams years ago that landed Bryce Young in Carolina while Caleb Williams and much more landed in Chicago. The Panthers aren’t quite able to get it done to open the season, losing again in Week 1 for the fifth consecutive season.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 14-21 (0-1)
Week 2 at Atlanta Falcons
Headline: Panthers defense tees off against Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa
After falling short in Week 1, the new-look defense comes to play in Week 2 on the road, forcing the Falcons to make a QB change mid-game. Penix is aiming for a Week 1 return, but gets the short leash pulled in favor of Tagovailoa, who doesn’t do much better. Jaycee Horn brings in two INTs in the win.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 24-6 (1-0)
Week 3 at Cleveland Browns
Headline: Panthers force a QB change for the second consecutive week
Once again, the Panthers face an early team with QB issues. I’ll say Deshaun Watson opens the game but struggles in the first-half. Cleveland switches to Shedeur Sanders, who starts to bring the Browns back but ultimately comes up short. Bonus: Jaelan Phillips records more sacks than Myles Garrett.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 21-13 (2-1)
Week 4 vs. Detroit Lions
Headline: Bright lights are too bright for the Panthers against a high-caliber offense
After reeling off two wins against bad offenses, Carolina runs into a buzzsaw against Detroit in the team’s first home Sunday Night Football game since 2015. Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs feast in this one.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 42-21 (2-2)
Week 5 Bye
Panthers enter into the bye week .500 but there’s legit concerns that need to be addressed after dropping two home games against top NFC opponents.
Week 6 at Philadelphia Eagles
Headline: Bryce Young and Jalen Hurts trade shots, Eagles defense tightens up late
First game out of the bye, the Panthers are on the road against another top-caliber team in the conference. Bryce Young and Jalen Hurts, two former Alabama QBs, trade shot plays with DeVonta Smith and Chris Brazzell II each having 50+ yard touchdowns. However, the Eagles defense tightens up late to win it.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 24-28 (2-3)
Week 7 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Headline: Home crowd fuels Panthers toward another divisional win
After dropping two straight, the Panthers need a to get the season back on track before it spirals out of control. The fans show out against the Bucs and allow the Panthers to control the game as Carolina’s run game helps keep Baker Mayfield on the sidelines.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 24-20 (3-3)
Week 8 at Green Bay Packers
Headline: Packers get revenge at Lambeau thanks to a short week
After taking down the Packers in Green Bay last season, Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love will be looking to get revenge. By Week 8, the Packers will also have Micah Parsons and Tucker Kraft back. Playing on the road on Thursday night is always tough, playing in Lambeau against a revenge-driven team isn’t going to be ideal at all.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 14-27 (3-4)
Week 9 vs. Denver Broncos
Headline: Offensive play-calling concerns begin rising after being held out of the endzone
This is the game that will really test the patience of the fanbase. Denver is easily the toughest defense the Panthers will face this upcoming season and I see the Broncos holding Carolina out of the end zone completely, prompting concerns about the play-calling from offensive coordinator Brad Idzik.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 9-21 (3-5)
Week 10 at New Orleans Saints
Headline: Panthers roar back to life, Bryce Young wins his first game in NOLA
Bryce Young has never won a start in New Orleans and this will finally be the game he does it with an NFC Offensive Player of the Week type of performance. Panthers roar back to life on the road to get a win during the toughest stretch of the season.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 31-14 (4-5)
Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens
Headline: Lamar Jackson – Derrick Henry combo is too much for the Panthers
Another brutal loss in front of the home crowd that kills Carolina’s momentum after a win road win. The Panthers’ defense shows cracks against Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, easily the league’s best QB-RB duo when healthy.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 20-38 (4-6)
Week 12 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Headline: Baker Mayfield gets his revenge on Monday Night Football
Baker Mayfield is always good for one primetime game a season where he goes absolutely bonkers. This, unfortunately, is that game on a Monday night. The Panthers at least keep things close and take this game into overtime. But, Mayfield’s fourth TD seals the game and the Panthers end up dropping all three primetime games.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 23-30 in OT (4-7)
Week 13 at Minnesota Vikings
Headline: Tetairoa McMillan fourth-down catch sets up game-winning field goal
This game will be a defensive chess match between Ejiro Evero and Brian Flores. The tight game lasts deep into the final quarter until the Panthers pull off a fourth-down conversion when Young connects downfield with McMillan to set up the game-winning field goal.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 13-10 (5-7)
Week 14 vs. New Orleans Saints
Headline: Tetairoa McMillan keeps the hot streak going with a 120-yard game
After being the hero the week before, McMillan has another strong outing against the Saints totaling 120 yards receiving as the Panthers complete the sweep against a division rival to finally start stacking wins again.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 16-14 (6-7)
Week 15 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Headline: Panthers win a shootout game at home, proving the team’ full offensive power
This is the game that really gets Bank of America rocking with an offensive shootout between Bryce Young and Joe Burrow. I’ll even add a prediction that Jonathon Brooks rips off a 40+ yard touchdown run (untouched) in the second-half. Panthers have their highest-scoring game of the year to get back to .500 again.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 39-34 (7-7)
Week 16 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Headline: Panthers get to deal with more QB drama against the Steelers
Who starts at QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2026 is still a mystery. Will it be Aaron Rodgers? Or will the Steelers be forced to turn to one of the young bucks in Will Howard / Drew Allar? Regardless, I see multiple QBs playing in a game against the Panthers again, allowing Carolina’s defense to secure another win.
Score Prediction: Panthers win 27-18 (8-7)
Week 17 vs. Seattle Seahawks
Headline: Panthers drop another late season game against Seattle, setting up for do-or-die game in Week 18
Carolina will host Seattle in Week 17 for the second season in a row and it’s not going to go well for the team yet again. The Panthers at least keep it closer this time, holding on to hope that this team is a handful of plays away from winning a game of this magnitude.
Score Prediction: Panthers lose 23-20 (8-8)
Week 18 vs. Atlanta Falcons
Headline: Panthers clinch NFC South and another home playoff game in Week 18
After how things went in Week 18 last season, the Panthers clinch the NFC South title on their own terms this time around with a defining win to end the season. Carolina heads into the playoffs with another home game in the wild card round
Score Prediction: Panthers in 27-6 (9-8)
Final 2026 Projected Record: 9-8, 5-1 in NFC South
The Panthers take advantage of a weak division going 5-1 against NFC South opponents and 4-7 against other teams. It’s going to be a gauntlet of a schedule and dominating in the division is the only way the Panthers will be able to defend their title in 2026.
BONUS PREDICTION: Panthers defeat the Seattle Seahawks (No. 5 seed) in the wild card round in a super close game. In the second-round, Carolina is forced to go on the round against the Chicago Bears (No. 2 seed) and can’t keep up with a red-hot offense led by Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams.
