Bears GM doubles down on silly narrative surrounding star player
General Manager Ryan Poles was repeating himself at the NFL Combine on Tuesday morning
It is officially combine week for the NFL.
What does that mean?
It means press conferences, rumors galore, late nights discussing the frame work for eventual trades between general managers at Saint Elmo's steakhouse, and of course the underwear Olympics for draft prospects.
As we have discussed in previous articles, the Bears have a slew of options they can choose to use with the top pick in this years draft.
Well the general manager, Ryan Poles may have just made their plan a little more clear.
In his combine press conference on Tuesday morning, Poles made his stance on QB, Justin Fields known.
He reaffirmed the team's commitment to the player, and that they plan on him being their QB in the 2023-2024 season. He went on to say they will do their "due diligence on the QBs in the draft" as any general manager should. However, all signs point to a trade out of the number 1 pick for the Bears.
Of course nothing said is absolute as we famously saw with the "Josh is our guy" quote years ago.
However, word from the general manager should carry more weight than words from a coach.
