Bengals Injury Report: Two starters from Cincinnati’s secondary are now dealing with the same injury
Not a great sign for the Bengals’ defensive backfield.
Injuries for the Cincinnati Bengals are only getting more concerning as Week 3 inches closer and closer.
A total of six names are listed on Thursday’s injury report, and two of them did not practice at all. Let’s take a look at the ailments Cincinnati is dealing with in the middle of its week of practice before Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Bengals Thursday injury report
| Player | Injury | Wednesday (9/17) | Thursday (9/18) |
| DT B.J. Hill | NIR – (Rest) | – | Limited |
| G Dylan Fairchild | Shoulder | Full | Full |
| DE Shemar Stewart | Ankle | DNP | DNP |
| CB Cam Taylor-Britt | Hamstring | Limited | DNP |
| CB DJ Turner II | Hamstring | – | Limited |
| LB Logan Wilson | Ankle | Limited | Full |
Observations
- After leaving practice Wednesday, Taylor-Britt (hamstring) did not practice at all Thursday, which definitely puts his game status in doubt for Sunday. Cincinnati holds a light practice Friday so Taylor-Britt will have missed the majority of practice time regardless this week.
- Turner (hamstring) has a new injury and was limited Thursday. It could be a similar case as Taylor-Britt wherein he suffered the injury mid-practice. Not having either Taylor-Britt or Turner for Sunday would likely put Josh Newton and DJ Ivey in the starting lineup along with Dax Hill.
- Stewart (ankle) was a DNP again. The rookie suffered his injury after playing 29 snaps last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A Friday practice would be surprising from him.
- Fairchild (shoulder) went full again, and Wilson (ankle) was a full participant after being limited Wednesday.
Vikings Thursday injury report
| Player | Injury | Wednesday (9/17) | Thursday (9/18) |
| OT Christian Darrisaw | Knee | Full | DNP |
| OLB Jonathan Grennard | Oblique | Limited | Full |
| G Donovan Jackson | Wrist | Limited | Limited |
| S Theo Jackson | Hip | Limited | Limited |
| C Ryan Kelly | Concussion | DNP | DNP |
| LB Austin Keys | Groin | Limited | Limited |
| QB J.J. McCarthy | Ankle | DNP | DNP |
| CB Jeff Okudah | Concussion | Full | Full |
| TE Josh Oliver | Ankle | Limited | Limited |
| OT Justin Skule | Concussion | DNP | DNP |
| S Harrison Smith | Illness | Limited | Limited |
| OLB Andrew Van Ginkel | Concussion | Limited | Limited |
Observations
- Much like last week, Darrisaw (knee) did not practice after going full on Wednesday. If the pattern continues, he’s not likely to play Sunday.
- Grennard (oblique) went full after being limited Wednesday, which is typically a good sign towards a player suiting up. The former Pro Bowler has one sack and three solo tackles so far this season.
- Smith (illness), who’s yet to play this season, went limited for the second day in a row. Smith is in his 14th year and has made six Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro in 2017.
