With the NFL Draft firmly in the rearview, it was time for the Cincinnati Bengals to get deals finalized for their 2023 class, and they took the first step on Tuesday.

Fifth-round running back Chase Brown and the Bengals have agreed to terms on his contract.

Chase signed a four-year deal for $4.126 million with a $286,156 signing bonus.

Brown's base salaries:

2023: $750,000

2024: $915,000

2025: $1,030,000

2026: $1,145,000

Taking Brown on Day 3 shows that the Bengals may end up keeping Joe Mixon despite his off-the-field issues. However, that could end up being a great thing for the offense in Cincinnati.

Brown possesses 4.43 speed so he's a nice change of pace from a guy like Mixon. In addition, Chase caught 41 passes for 382 yards and three touchdowns during his final two campaigns at Illinois. So, the Bengals need to find a way to get him the ball out in space as well, and his explosiveness will lead to huge plays.

With Brown signed, look for Cincinnati to try to get guys like edge rusher Myles Murphy and cornerback DJ Turner to ink their deals soon.
