It’s finally time for the preseason as the Cincinnati Bengals are hosting the Detroit Lions for their preseason-opener at 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday night.
These teams faced off last year in Week 5 of the regular season. Cincinnati was without Joe Burrow, and Jake Browning made his final start of his Bengals career in a 37-24 loss that was much more lopsided than the score indicated. The Bengals traded for Joe Flacco two days later.
Cincinnati will have Burrow out there, at least for a drive or two, while the Lions are sticking with their backups throughout the game. Reserves getting their shot to earn roster spots is what the preseason is all about.
