Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer stirred up quite a debate this past week.

Palmer suggested that current Bengals starting quarterback Joe Burrow is a better player than Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

"I think Joe is the best quarterback in the league," said Palmer recently on The QB Room. "I know Patrick is phenomenal, but I just think Joe’s more consistent. He’s more consistent."

On Monday morning, NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" discussed Palmer's comments.

And that led to one of the show's co-hosts, Kyle Brandt, making a ridiculous statement about Burrow.

Brandt suggested that not only is Burrow not better than Mahomes (which is fair, considering Mahomes' accomplishments), but he doesn't even think the former LSU star is the second-best quarterback in the NFL.

Instead, Brandt, a noted Bills Mafia supporter, said that he'd take Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen over Burrow.

"Is Burrow the second-best quarterback in the NFL?" asked Brandt on Monday morning. "Is Burrow that guy? Because then there's like six dudes [in that conversation]. You have Allen and Jalen [Hurts]. I still think that I'd rather have Allen just because I think he has more talent and I think he has more stuff going on with the running and everything."

Maybe Allen is more physically talented than Burrow — that's not unfair to suggest.

But Burrow has the intangibles. He's an elite leader, elite teammate, and he's the reason the Bengals are relevant right now. Burrow makes everyone around him better. And he's done it since his days at LSU.

Burrow has defeated Allen head-to-head in the playoffs and he's taken his team to the Super Bowl while playing two fewer seasons than Allen.

There's nothing to suggest that Allen is a better option for an NFL franchise than Burrow. This is simply a terrible take from Brandt.
