As if there was any worry, Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson shut down a narrative today that would have an impact on the 2024 season for Cleveland.

Watson was interviewed by some reporters on Thursday at the opening of his new business Lefty’s Cheesesteaks. The starting quarterback revealed that the shoulder is feeling great and that he would be ready by Week 1 for sure.

Watson is currently in the rehab process after surgery was required on a glenoid fracture in his throwing shoulder. It happened in Week 10 of the 2023 season against the Baltimore Ravens, a game that Watson finished and won.

Cleveland signed two quarterbacks this offseason with Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley joining the Browns. Add in Dorian Thompson-Robinson and the Browns have four quarterbacks with some sort of experience on the roster. Bringing in an extra arm like Huntley allows the Browns to get through the offseason camps and into training camp without rushing Watson back to action.

By the time training camp rolls around Watson should be set to take all of the live reps in preparation for the 2024 season. With how things have gone during his first two seasons with Cleveland, this is a step in the right direction.
