Deshaun Watson drops bold statement on social media about what is to come for the Browns right as training camp starts
Deshaun Watson has dropped a hype video ahead of training camp really ramping up for the Cleveland Browns. Watson was clear with what he beleives is ahead of the Browns.
Deshaun Watson returning from injury for the Cleveland Browns in 2026 is one of the most compelling storylines surrounding the franchise. Watson sat out all of 2025 and 10 games in 2024 with an Achilles injury he ruptured twice, requiring two surgeries. Now healthy, the former Pro Bowl quarterback is heading into a training camp battle against Shedeur Sanders in coach Todd Monken’s first year as Cleveland’s head coach.
Ahead of training camp getting underway this week, Watson released a hype video on Instagram where he made quite the statement. Watson said he feels like this is the year it can all come together for him in Cleveland.
“This is year five man, so this is that time you know what I’m saying, sh**. Just like everybody else, I’ve been waiting too. Things gotta line up right, you know, and I feel like this is the year that it can all come together.
Browns waiting for player they thought they traded for to materialize
The quarterback Cleveland thought it was getting before the 2022 season has never shown up. Watson hasn’t looked like the same player since his 2020 season with the Houston Texans, and the numbers back that up. Watson has played in just 19 games with the Browns over four seasons, totaling 3,365 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Cleveland is 9-10 in those starts, and Watson has never played in more than seven games in a single season for the Browns.
The soon-to-be 31-year-old has a lot to prove, and there’s no sugarcoating that reality. While the Browns would benefit from Watson putting it all together in 2026, a return to form would also create a fascinating decision for the front office. Watson is set to become a free agent after this season, and even if he showed promise of regaining his old ability, committing long-term dollars to him would carry significant risk given his injury history.
Training camp QB battle begins this week
The quarterback competition between Watson and Sanders is going to be the defining storyline of Browns training camp.
