Payton has an illustrious resumé in the NFL. He's one of the most well-respected offensive minds of this generation, and one of his former players knows that.
Emmanuel Sanders, former Broncos and Saints wide receiver, played for Payton and New Orleans during the 2020 season. That was after he had spent 6 years with the Broncos. He's got a connection to both franchises.
Sanders had a strong relationship with Payton, and his reaction to the news was priceless.
The former star wideout shared a postgame video of Payton from when he played under him with the Saints.
Sanders is certainly known for his time with the Broncos. He had his best seasons in Denver, and fans loved his personality. His demeanor made him a favorite among his teammates as well.
The three seasons of his career with 1,000+ receiving yards all came in Denver. Broncos fans remember him quite fondly.
His time with the Saints was short, but he 726 yards on 61 receptions and five touchdowns in his season in New Orleans. It definitely looks like he enjoyed that time with Sean Payton, though.
