Brad Holmes and the Lions were back in Alabama on Saturday, who they’re likely keeping their eyes on
No shocker, Brad loves the Tide
Maybe Detroit Lions GM Brad Holmes should look into getting an apartment in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, so the Lions can continue to build their underground tunnel to Detroit.
We don’t see it a lot, so it’s notable when Holmes actually goes to a college to watch players. That college always seems to be Alabama.
Brad Holmes and multiple Lions scouts attended the Alabama vs Missouri game
As you know, this isn’t the first time Holmes has been at an Alabama game. He was notably at the Alabama vs Texas game in 2022. That’s where he fell in love with Jahmyr Gibbs and Brian Branch. Holmes returned the following year, and then the Lions drafted Terrion Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. So who could he and his team have their eyes on in this one?
Alabama players the Detroit Lions could be keeping their eyes on
- QB Ty Simpson
- T Kaydn Proctor (Please)
- Edge LT Overton
- LB Deontae Lawson
- S Keon Sabb
- S Bray Hubbard
- G Jaeden Roberts
- DL Tim Kennan III
The dream here is Proctor, right? Imagine an offensive line with Proctor on one side and Penei Sewell on the other. Man, that’s scary. Taylor Decker won’t be around for much longer. The 32-year-old left tackle is dealing with some injuries right now. Father Time usually doesn’t make the body stronger as the years go by. So it’s not crazy to see the end coming very soon.
Overton is another guy who should be garnering some attention from the Lions. In addition, Mizzou has edge rusher Zion Young, who is a projected Day 2 pick. The Lions were probably watching him as well.
