One of the craziest storylines of 2023 surrounding the Indianapolis Colts was the mysterious suspension of WR Isaiah McKenzie and Tony Brown Jr. late last season

During a Q&A session on his personal X account, Colts LB Zaire Franklin gave a quick and brutally honest opinion on the situation.

On December 19, 2023, the Colts paced CB Tony Brown Jr and WR Isaiah McKenzie on the Reserve/Suspended list for "conduct detrimental to the team."

The phrase "conduct detrimental to the team" is so vague. And fans have wondered all offseason why these players were suspended. But, the team has never provided additional details. However, I think it's fair to say their actions created a significant wedge between the team and both players. Neither ever took the field as a member of the Colts again after the suspension because both left the team this offseason. The team released Brown to begin the offseason, and McKenzie was only signed for one season, so his contract expired after the 2023 season ended.

This makes Franklin's post towards McKenzie the first real comment we've received about the incident. And i think it's safe to say Franklin believes the suspension was warranted at least towards McKenzie via him saying the WR being "dumb" was the cause for the suspension.

We may never know the full story of what went down between Brown, McKenzie, and the Colts in 2023. But I think fans will appreciate knowing a team captain in Franklin believes the suspension given out by the team was a just punishment for whatever the actions committed were.
