Tracking the Kansas City Chiefs’ undrafted free agent signings, rookie minicamp tryout invites following the 2026 NFL Draft
The 2026 NFL Draft is over, but the Kansas City Chiefs will now join the frenzy of NFL teams signing undrafted free agents and inviting players to try out at the rookie minicamp.
The Kansas City Chiefs have officially wrapped up the 2026 NFL Draft.
After beginning the draft with nine picks, the Chiefs added just seven players. The festivities aren’t quite over yet. Kansas City will continue adding undrafted free agents to fill out its 90-man offseason roster, which now stands at 72 players.
The Chiefs will need to add at least 18 players to the 90-man offseason roster. They could also release some reserve/future contract players to make room for more undrafted free agents. They’ll also invite several players to Kansas City for a tryout at their rookie minicamp, which will take place the first weekend following the draft.
The Chiefs have found some gems in undrafted free agency in the past. A few of those players remain on the roster: CB Kevin Knowles, CB Melvin Smith Jr., LB Cooper McDonald, LB Brandon George, OG Mike Caliendo, OT Ethan Driskell, DB Chris Roland-Wallace, TE Jake Briningstool, TE Tre’ Watson, and WR Jimmy Holiday.
The Chiefs have plenty of funds, so if they want a player badly, they can offer a large signing bonus and guaranteed money. You want to look out for higher signing bonuses. They typically signify that they liked a player and had to compete to sign him, but that money will often be offset if they make the practice squad or the roster.
Keep in mind that rookie minicamp invites are often misreported as signings. We’ll do our best to differentiate between the two. The Chiefs will ultimately announce the official UDFA signings ahead of their rookie minicamp. We’ll track all of Kansas City’s reported signings and minicamp invites and list them below.
