Kansas City Chiefs’ 90-man Offseason Roster By Jersey Numbers: 2026 NFL Draft pick R Mason Thomas makes a change
The Kansas City Chiefs have assigned jersey numbers to every player on the 90-man offseason roster. They’ve also already got a change from one of the team’s 2026 NFL Draft picks.
The Kansas City Chiefs just entered Phase II of the offseason workout program ahead of OTAs later this month. The team has updated its 90-man roster to reflect all newly added players and assigned jersey numbers. Keep in mind that jersey numbers can still change during OTAs, training camp, and after 53-man roster cuts.
Which Chiefs Jersey Numbers Are Retired?

Chiefs DE R Mason Thomas makes a jersey number change
Chiefs second-round draft pick R Mason Thomas initially chose the No. 34 jersey. He told reporters that he chose it because it was close to his college number. He also said that he wasn’t attached to it and was open to suggestions. Sure enough, he’ll only wear that jersey during rookie minicamp. He swapped to No. 51, which Mike Danna last wore in Kansas City.
Why are there duplicate jersey numbers?
The NFL allows duplicate jersey numbers only on the 90-man roster and for players who play on different sides of the ball (offense, defense, specialist). The Chiefs have 20 players on the 2026 90-man roster with duplicate numbers. When 53-man roster cuts occur, if two players share the same jersey number, one of them will be forced to switch.
