The Los Angeles Rams have some interesting links to a top prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, and it could ruin every mock draft
With all the rumors around the Los Angeles Rams’ plans in the 2026 NFL Draft, an interesting connection between them and a top prospect emerges.
It’s the week of the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Los Angeles Rams‘ draft plans are as wide open as ever. There are so many scenarios the Rams could go, and none of them would surprise me.
However, some more thinking has led me to an interesting thought process here for the Rams. With the Makai Lemon draft stock all over the place and Jordyn Tyson seemingly unlikely to be on the board…what if the Rams decide to look at a different west coast wide receiver?
There are some surprising links between them and Washington Huskies wide receiver Denzel Boston.
Los Angeles Rams could have a different West Coast prospect in mind
The Los Angeles Rams have never been afraid to shy away from consensus, and this would be a slight reach versus draft consensus. Per the Wide Left consensus board, Boston is the No. 24 player in the class, a full ten spots behind Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson.
However, there are plenty of reasons the Rams would be interested in Boston, and there’s a noteworthy link the Rams can tap into for his evaluation.
The Rams need an on-ball “X” receiver to replace Davante Adams. Boston fits that mold to a t with his 6’4, 212-pound frame. Throughout the draft, they’ve met with “bigger” wide receivers, evidently looking to add some size in their room.
Boston checks off a lot of their additional boxes. He is a fantastic run blocker, team captain, and has plenty of special teams experience. Add that on top of his innate receiving ability, and Boston paints a well-rounded “Ram”. Despite that, it’s other connections that have drawn me to Boston as a Rams target.
Connecting the dots off-field
Last year, the Rams desperately tried to trade up for Tetairoa McMillan. There were some sketchy reports about them being interested in Emeka Egbuka, but only McMillan has ever been verified. Guess which wide receiver this year is a 99% match with McMillan on mockdraftable? You guessed it: Denzel Boston.
There’s a common mold the Rams have pursued recently at wide receiver. We’ve had numerous reports of the Rams pursuing McMillan, Mike Evans, and A.J. Brown over the last two seasons, and they signed Davante Adams. All of those receivers are the exact same mold of receiver as Boston as prototypical “X” receivers.
Additionally, the Rams have a dependable connection they can lean on to gather intel on Boston. Washington head coach Jedd Fisch was hired by Sean McVay and he spent two years on staff with the Rams. He and McVay still have a strong relationship, and I have it on hand McVay speaks with Fisch often.
With all of these connections, it’s hard to not see the interest for the Rams.
