‘I’d be shocked’—NFL agent seems to believe the trade chatter around one Miami Dolphins player is nothing but fan fiction
The Miami Dolphins are destined to be the subject of trade deadline speculation. But one NFL agent thinks the latest buzz is a whole bunch of nothing.
With the Miami Dolphins sitting at 1-5, they are inevitably going to be apart of some speculation around the 2026 NFL trade deadline. Business has picked up on this front. The Colts kicking off a fire sale of Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner on Tuesday.
Will Miami be next? I’d be willing to bet “no” — although perhaps the right trade offer could change that. One player constantly at the epicenter of trade speculation in Miami is defensive tackle Zach Sieler. He’s often named as a trade candidate. But his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, hasn’t got the memo.
NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus would be “shocked” if his client Zach Sieler is traded by the Miami Dolphins
“Zach has made it clear that he wants to stay here. I have not had any conversations with the Dolphins or any other team about him being traded. There has been no discussion about that. Zach is the heartbeat and leader of this defense, maybe the whole team. And he represents really the best of what this organization is about. I’ve never really paid much paid attention to the trade talks. So my role is really nothing right now because I’d be shocked if he were dealt.”
— Zach Sieler’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus to Josh Moser of WSVN
The Dolphins have seen Sieler steadily climb out of an early season hole this season — not too dissimilar to what happened last year in 2025. The slump Sieler started 2025 with was more extreme than a pair of tough showing to start 2026 in the Jeff Hafley scheme. But the last few weeks? Sieler has dramatically turned a corner and looks more like the player he was in 2022 and 2023 when posting big time disruption numbers.
Sieler is currently credited with 6 tackles for loss on the season. None were more important than his most recent one. Sieler wrangled Jets fullback Andrew Beck to the ground on a fullback run late in Miami’s 28-25 victory over the Jets. The play was the first of three consecutive stops in the backfield for Miami’s defense and proved to be a deciding sequence in Miami’s win.
And, according to Sieler’s agent? It sure sounds like he’ll have plenty more snaps in South Florida to try to top that play for his biggest of the season in Miami.
