Jeff Hafley just gave us the Miami Dolphins injury update that we’ve all been waiting for
The Miami Dolphins don’t have many players ailing as we reach the midway point of the season. But Jeff Hafley just gave us a big injury update on one of them.
It would not be accurate to say the Miami Dolphins have avoided injury hardship in 2026. De’Von Achane’s absence affirms that. But Miami has seen plenty of players stack up plenty of reps thus far this season.
One of their biggest standouts (literally and figuratively) missed his first game action in Week 8, however. First-round draft choice Kadyn Proctor spent this past weekend in the NFL’s concussion protocol. But head coach Jeff Hafley brought good news to the podium for his Wednesday press conference.
Miami Dolphins OL Kadyn Proctor will practice on Wednesday in return from concussion

Proctor getting back to practice today is a great development for his return to action. Courtesy of David Furones, we know Proctor is practicing on Wednesday without a red non-contact jersey. If all goes well, Proctor will leave the protocol on Thursday and be good to go for Sunday against the Lions. Miami will certainly need him to help try to attack the mighty Lions.
Proctor has spent more than a week in the NFL’s concussion protocol, but that may have come with a technicality. Remember, the last steps of the concussion protocol require a player to be involved in “non-contact training drills” and “full football activity”. With a game to play on the weekend, the progress through protocol could have been paused without practices for Proctor to partake in said activities.
What we know now is he’s ready for the next step. And I, for one, am ready to see him back out on the field and developing his game.
