The Miami Dolphins’ offseason of change continues with a new round of behind-the-scenes moves
The NFL Draft is in the books, and the Miami Dolphins are now making some more behind-the-scenes changes to their football operation.
The Miami Dolphins‘ offseason of change has once again reached the inner workings of the organization.
Many of Miami’s changes have happened publicly. The widely speculated split from Tua Tagovailoa. An abrupt course correction with moving on from Mike McDaniel. The hiring of Jon-Eric Sullivan & Jeff Hafley. A surprising blockbuster trade of Jaylen Waddle. But there have been other, more subtle changes at play, too. And we just got a trio of additional notable changes for the Dolphins’ front office.
Miami Dolphins move on from executive Champ Kelly, two scouts after 2026 NFL Draft

The Miami Dolphins’ former interim general manager, Champ Kelly, has once again seen an interim role lead to a post-draft split. Kelly was the man who took the reins from Chris Grier midseason, helping to lead Miami through the trade deadline and ultimately secure a 3rd-round draft choice for pass rusher Jaelan Phillips. Kelly interviewed for the full-time post but upon the hiring of Jon-Eric Sullivan, Kelly reverted back to the role of a ‘senior personnel executive’.
Per CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones, Kelly is out with Miami.
But he’s not the only scouting departure for the Miami Dolphins. Per Neil Stratton of ‘Inside the League’, Miami parted ways with two scouts this week. Andy Howell and JP Correia are reportedly out as well. This is commonplace for front office hirings; usually scouting staff changes happen after the NFL Draft so that a fresh scouting cycle can be undertaken with new scouts in place.
Howell and Correia both had significant tenures in Miami. Howell was with the team for a decade, while Correia is credited with 8 seasons in Miami. Both were listed on the team directory as pro scouts.
Miami’s already made one hire to the pro scouting staff; it was reported months ago that Venzel Boulware would be joining the Dolphins’ staff from Green Bay. Boulware is a former Miami Hurricanes offensive lineman. He’s now Sullivan’s hand-picked pro scout in the front office.
But it’s probably safe to assume that more change is on the way.
