The Miami Dolphins swap out two from their 90-man roster—including a farewell at quarterback
The Miami Dolphins’ roster churn claimed two more youngsters on Friday.
The Miami Dolphins‘ leadership has, essentially, told us their blueprint for this offseason at every step along the way.
General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is continuing to go about working on one of the final pieces of the puzzle as training camp forges forward. The Dolphins are on the hunt for gems — and they’re doing so by churning the bottom of the roster and constantly seeking out new potential contributors. That process added (and subtracted) two on Friday afternoon.
The Miami Dolphins waive two, including quarterback Mark Gronowski
The team announced on Friday that they’d waived undrafted rookie quarterback Mark Gronowski and waived/injured safety Omar Brown. In their place, the team has signed free agent safety Tanner Wall and claimed cornerback Ahmari Harvey off waivers from the Steelers.
The Gronowski experience for the Miami Dolphins was a short-lived one and it leaves the Dolphins with just three quarterbacks going into their first joint-practice session of the preseason against the Washington Commanders next week. The Dolphins did, for what it’s worth, hold a private workout earlier in the summer with former UFL MVP Jack Plummer. So perhaps another subsequent move is coming.
Safety Omar Brown was one of the select few to make the migration off the Packers’ roster last season to South Florida with Jeff Hafley. His status as a waive/injured transaction suggests he’s now fighting an ailment.
As far as the players coming in, Ahmari Harvey was a 27 game starter in college, splitting his career between the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Auburn Tigers. He originally signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted rookie this past spring, then latched on with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the summer. Miami will be his third team in four months.
Wall was a first-team All-Big 12 honoree for the BYU Cougars in 2025. As is the case with many from the BYU program, he served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before playing with the Cougars. As a result, he’s set to be a 26-year old rookie in 2026. Wall originally signed with the Las Vegas Raiders after the 2026 NFL Draft — now he’ll join a crowded Miami Dolphins competition at safety.
