Minnesota Vikings final injury report reveals the starting quarterback, good news about the trenches on both sides
We have significant clarity with J.J. McCarthy and Carson Wentz, among others.
The Minnesota Vikings will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon with a lot of questions surrounding the game.
Defensive coordinator Brian Flores is going to have his hands full with Jalen Hurts, but his scheme is perfect to neutralize him. Outside of that, head coach Kevin O’Connell is taking on Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, and that chess match is a fantastic one.
The final injury report is out, and the Vikings have mixed news coming from it, including a starting quarterback.

Observations
- J.J. McCarthy isn’t going to be the starting quarterback, but he was named the emergency quarterback for Carson Wentz. Max Brosmer will be the backup. This is an important step for McCarthy, as he is likely to suit up.
- Jurgens is listed as questionable for the game with his hamstring injury, which prompted head coach Kevin O’Connell to name Blake Brandel the starting center.
- Jackson will be returning on Sunday, and Greenard won’t be missing the game with his hamstring injury, as neither player has a designation.
- Cashman just had his 21-day practice window opened, and O’Connell said his return is more of a procedural move.
Philadelphia Eagles Friday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| DT Jordan Davis | Shoulder | Full/Full/Full | None |
| DT Jalen Carter | Heel | Full/Limited/Limited | Questionable |
| LB Zack Baun | Finger | Full/Full/Full | None |
| OG Landon Dickerson | Ankle | Limited/Limited/Full | Questionable |
| CB Quinyon Mitchell | Hamstring | Limited/Full/Full | None |
| TE Grant Calcaterra | Oblique | DNP/DNP/DNP | Out |
Observations
- Of all the injuries, the biggest is to Carter. After being a full participant in practice on Wednesday, he’s been limited over the last two days. Being listed as questionable is a tough designation, and it will be one to monitor going into Sunday.
- Mitchell playing is going to be massive for the Eagles. Their other cornerbacks are not up to snuff, but Mitchell is one of the best young cornerbacks in the game.
