Jaren Hall is heading to the UFL’s multi-time champion Birmingham Stallions with a chance to revitalize his playing career.
Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Jaren Hall is getting a chance to revitalize his pro football career in the UFL. On Monday, the Birmingham Stallions selected Hall in the UFL Draft.
Hall isn’t the only former Vikings quarterback going to Birmingham, as he will be joined by Matt Corral and Canadian U-Sports star Taylor Elgersma. It’s arguably the best quarterback room in the league heading into the season.
Jaren Hall selected by Birmingham Stallions in UFL Draft
The Vikings selected Hall at the end of the 2023 NFL Draft and he made the All-Forno team coming out of BYU. He was the developmental quarterback on the roster, and was thrust into the backup quarterback spot with an injury to Nick Mullens.
When Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles tendon in the Week 9 matchup with the Green Bay Packers, Hall was set to get his first start against the Atlanta Falcons the next week. On the second drive of the game, which ended in a field goal, Hall suffered a concussion that knocked him out of the game. Josh Dobbs came in, and that’s when we got the Passtronaut. It lasted a couple of week before Mullens took over, and eventually the Vikings gave Hall another chance.
Unfortunately for Hall, that came on New Year’s Eve against the Green Bay Packers. He was disastrous, completing just 5-10 for 67 yard and an interception. Head coach Kevin O’Connell pulled Hall at halftime for Mullens in a, 33-10, loss that knocked them out of the playoffs.
Hall initially made the 53-man roster for the Vikings in 2024, but was quickly replaced by Brett Rypien. Instead of joining the Vikings’ practice squad, he left for the Seattle Seahawks, who kept him until after the 2025 NFL Draft when they chose to release him.
Hall has a lot of ability, as he throws an accurate football and possesses good movement skills. He easily could end up being the starting quarterback for the Stallions and prove to the NFL he’s worthy of a roster spot. It’s the same path that Vikings defensive tackle Jalen Redmond took.
