Justin Jefferson refuses to take the bait when talking schedule release, prompting NFL analyst to state the obvious
The schedule release has come and gone, prompting an appearance on Good Morning Football for Justin Jefferson.
The 2026 NFL schedule is out, and the Minnesota Vikings have one of the more intriguing ones in the league.
After starting the season with the Green Bay Packers, the Vikings will travel to Chicago to take on the Bears. Their toughest stretch of the season will be in Weeks 8-11 when they face four playoff teams, with three of them away from home.
If they are going to make the playoffs, they need to thrive in that stretch, and wide receiver Justin Jefferson will need to thrive.
Justin Jefferson doesn’t take the bait when talking matchups
Once the schedule is released, the focus turns toward talking about the season. Jefferson made an appearance on Good Morning Football, where the panel tried to get him to talk about any matchups he has circled. Being a savvy individual, Jefferson didn’t bite.
“They definitely got a couple corners that that I’m going to face this year that I haven’t faced in previous years. So, I’m definitely looking forward to that. No individual names at this very moment. Yeah, match-ups are going to be talked about, the just the exciting moments and the exciting match-ups are always talked about. So I’m looking forward to it, as always.”
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson
A tremendously media-savvy answer from Jefferson, who knows exactly how to handle these situations. Kyle Brandt summarized exactly what Jefferson was trying to say with a perfect one answer.
Listen, at this point, J.J. doesn’t circle people. People circle J.J.
Good Morning Football’s Kyle Brandt
It’s a really smart way for Brandt to frame it, and it’s even better because he’s right. When you are the best wide receiver in the NFL, others are going to make you a focus. That’ll be a problem for his opponents, as Jefferson’s going to be extra motivated to be great after a down 2025.
