How the Minnesota Vikings will approach the NFL Draft will show what their preferred strategy is.

There are a lot of different paths that the Vikings can take. Will they choose to go with a premium position like wide receiver or cornerback, or take a less common approach with tight end or linebacker? Defensive tackle and edge rusher isn’t off the table either.

Minnesota Vikings reportedly hosting Kenyon Sadiq for pre-draft visit

The Vikings have done a lot of work on this class, but their top-30 NFL Draft visits have been mostly day two and day three players. That seems to be changing, as SI Oregon’s Bri Amaranthus reported that the Vikings will be hosting Kenyon Sadiq on a pre-draft visit.

The Vikings held their big pre-draft event last week with multiple players visiting, and it’s possible that Sadiq was there. It’s also possible that he still has his visit on the books and hasn’t made it out yet.

Sadiq is the first player with first-round buzz who has been reported to visit the Vikings, and it’s fascinating for multiple reasons.

Kevin O’Connell’s offense thrives on attacking down the field, especially over the middle of the field. Sadiq is an explosive weapon with 4.39 40-yard dash speed and a 43.5″ vertical leap who thrives running up the seam.

When you look at the 2026 roster, tight end isn’t a dire need, but rather one to plan for the future. T.J. Hockenson had his contract modified to become a free agent after the 2026 season, opening up a spot for the top pass catching tight end next year.

This season, he wouldn’t be a significant contributor, but Sadiq will still be a factor on offense. With a need at WR3, O’Connell can use him early on as a slot weapon in 12 and 13 personnel. That’s been how Kyler Murray was maximized in 2024 with the Arizona Cardinals. He was more explosive as a passer with bigger bodies on the field.

Will they end up taking Sadiq? That remains to be seen, but it’s certainly notable that they are going to be visiting with Sadiq.
