Kirk Cousins and Kevin O'Connell were noticeably disappointed after a frustrating home loss to the Buccaneers.

The Vikings fell 20-17 and looked sloppy all afternoon. The running game could not get established and Cousins committed three costly penalties.

It won't get any easier from here. The Vikings have a short week and will travel to play the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football.

O'Connell noted in the post-game presser that the  team needs to have a "sense of urgency" after losing the opener. The coach mentioned that "everyone's got to look inward" as they get ready for the Eagles.

Kirk Cousins was visibily frustrated with himself after his performance. The QB said the team "has to play better," and it's "tough to lose."

Cousins was asked if he will take time to watch the film, or if it's immediately on to Philadelphia.

"You definitely watch it, get together with the guys tomorrow and watch it," answered Cousins. "Obviously you got to do both, cover this game and then get ready for the Eagles as fast as possible."

The team will have to study and get turned around quickly. On a short week, the Vikings will not have time to make major changes but hopefully there is something on film that is easy to address.

Ball security will be key against the Eagles. No team in the league had more sacks than the Eagles in 2022, which is scary to consider after the Vikings' offensive line performance today.
