The Minnesota Vikings received some good news ahead of Thursday Night Football.
After being listed as questionable, both Marcus Davenport and Christian Darrisaw will suit up against the Eagles.
The Vikes will need all the help they can get on the offensive line. Austin Schlottmann will start in place of Garrett Bradbury at center. Schlottmann delivered mixed results while filling in against the Bucs, but the line as a hole did not perform well.
As for Davenport, the edge rusher will make his Vikings’ debut tonight. The veteran should provide some additional pass rushing help that is sorely needed.
Against the Bucs in Week One, the Vikings managed to collect just one sack. DJ Wonnum started in place of Davenport and was unable to generate any pressure off the edge. Davenport was signed to be a disruptor off the edge, and hopefully that’s exactly what he’ll do tonight.
Other than Bradbury, TE Nick Muse, DL Jacqueline Roy, and OLB Andre Carter II will be inactive for TNF. Jaren Hall will be the third QB once again.
Kickoff is less than an hour away. The Vikings will hope to get to 1-1 and pick up a quality NFC win in the process. The prospects of a victory become easier to envision now that Davenport and Darrisaw are playing.
