New Orleans Saints probably were not expecting the news that they received on Monday night.
Second-year wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested on suspicion of reckless operation of a motor vehicle last night. Olave was accused of going 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, according to Nick Underhill of NOF.
Olave was taken to Kenner City Jail, where he had already been booked and released. Chris’s brother claims that he was on the way home from CVS. Why he was going double the speed limit home from CVS? That is yet to be answered.
Nonetheless, it’s a traffic violation that Olave will get past. The former Ohio State standout broke out as a rookie with 1,042 receiving yards. This season, Olave already has 471 yards and is on pace to bypass his rookie total.
New Orleans fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football in Week 7. Next up for the Saints is a game in Indianapolis to take on the Colts. At this time, no Saints statement has been available.
