The New York Giants have a new quarterback update as they return from their bye week. They've won two games in a row with third-string QB Tommy Devito at the helm.

On Monday, the Giants announced that QB Tyrod Taylor is being designated for return of Injured Reserve.

His practice window will be opened this week. Taylor has been dealing with a ribs injury.

The veteran QB has missed a month of time with his ailment. Devito has started in place of Taylor and Daniel Jones, winning two of three starts. He's created some momentum for New York, but it is difficult to project that lasting much longer.

Taylor is 34 years old and in the final year of his contract. New York may choose to stick with Devito as a young option to see what his value may be going forward.

Regardless, it's tough to see another QB starting next season in place of Jones – unless the Giants grab a top QB in the draft. No matter what – New York now has another quarterback option to finish this season.
